CaliRosa Tequila
MS Walker of Rhode Island added celebrity-backed brand, Calirosa Tequila, described as a spin on traditional tequila. A fusion of Mexican spirit and California style, Calirosa is made in Jalisco, Mexico by the Real family, longtime producers of high-quality tequila since 1942, with husband-and-wife duo Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and former Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo as investors in the project. Calirosa Tequila offers two expressions, Rosa Blanco and Añejo, both aged in red wine barrels. Made from Blue Weber agave that has been harvested at seven to nine years of age and cooked in brick ovens, the liquid is then fermented for up to 50 hours and double distilled, before being matured in red wine barrels from California. Rosa Blanco spends 30 days in red wine barrels, adopting a light pink hue and a flavor profile described as floral, with a touch of cherry and orange peel. Añejo is aged in red wine barrels for 18 months, giving it a rose gold color and a light fruit aroma with layers of cooked agave, toffee, chocolate and vanilla. Each are bottled at 40% ABV. Third-generation Tequila maker Luis Trejo Rodriguez serves as master distiller.
